MOVING MOUNTAINS CO-OP

ABOUT

ATTENTION: We are at capacity and on a waiting list for fourth grade and under. We may have a few openings for 5th to 8th grade for fall 2024-25.

Moving Mountains is an academic enrichment homeschool

co-op meeting in Hebron for children ages 5-13. We meet once a week for classes for approximately 2-3 hours. Because we have a waiting list, we ask that you commit to the full 10-week term you enroll in. Contact us for the day and time.

Our fall offering includes:

- Kits: Ages 5-7 will do 5 in a Row

- Bobcats: Ages 7-9 will do nature field studies in fall and spring and northeast geography in the late fall to early spring. Students will need to be able to sketch/paint their findings and keep their artwork in their binder, write their name on their paper and sit for ~20 minutes of a story and lesson, though we try to make it as hands on as possible!

- Wolves: Ages 10-13 do a story club and either science or world geography.

- We currently do not have a group for ages 4 and under. Younger siblings may stay with their parent in the mezzanine area and we have a few toys and coloring books.

- Afterwards there’s outdoor play such as sledding in winter, field games and swimming in the warmer months.

*Age refers to age by September 30th.

Our rate has been $30 per child per 10-week trimester to cover the cost of the rooms we need at Camp Berea, however we haven’t negotiated the rate for fall yet.

Fees are due 2 weeks prior to the start of the next trimester. Any withdrawals require 14 days notice. Refunds for that term will not be issued after the term begins.

Registration for kids 6 and under is intended for younger siblings of enrolled Bobcats or Wolves (2nd-8th grade).

The terms run roughly:

September to November

December to February

March to May

This cost may go up or down each term depending on how many families commit and how many rooms we need. The location at Berea may vary each week so stay in touch for details!

Parents are required to stay. They must volunteer once or twice a month in some capacity (such as teaching in one of the classes, bringing supplies or cleaning.)

Families are required to sign the student handbook and code of conduct and Berea’s liability release form.

Camp Berea is a Christian camp welcoming participants from all denominations, so the co-op will choose materials to teach from a Christian worldview. There is an optional weekly Bible memory verse program. We welcome co-op participants from a variety of ecumenical backgrounds who desire to be part of a Christian homeschool co-op.
